Who Are We?

We are graduates from Valencia High School in Santa Clarita, California. We live in all 50 states and in many countries around the world.

Our mission is to help VHS Alums stay connected to Valencia High, and to each other. We aim to honor our Alma Mater with supportive, encouraging and thoughtful actions, and with every endeavor, we will continue to Raise The Ruckus!

Our Story

In 1994, Valencia High opened its gates to the Sophomore and Freshman classes of 1997 & 1998. Twenty years later, the classes reunited in celebration of the school's first 20 year reunion. During the planning for the reunion, the committee felt that an Alumni Group would be beneficial to both the alumni and to the school. With approval from the VHS administration, the committee set out to create the Valencia Viking Alumni Association.

Koren Young transferred to Valencia High School as a junior. He quickly got involved with Viking Television, the student-produced daily news video broadcast. He produced VTV for two years and helped develop the first video production classes at the school. He served as an ASB officer for a year and a half, planning events and activities for the students.

Koren earned his Associate degree in Radio, Television & Film from College of the Canyons before transferring to CSUN for his Bachelor's Degree in Cinema & Television Arts. He’s worked for most of the major studios and now owns and operates Arcay Studios, offering video production services to small businesses.

He serves on the advisory boards for the Video Production programs at the Wm. S. Hart District and College of the Canyons. His experience at Valencia High School helped shape his life and Koren is excited to give back to his Viking community through this alumni association.

Stephanie Jimenez is a Class of ‘98 graduate who played Volleyball & Softball as well as ran Track.  Her junior year she took a class in graphic design taught by VHS teacher Brandon King. It was during her junior and senior year that “Coach King” helped her create a portfolio and apply to Brooks College, where she graduated in 2000 with an Associate of Science in Graphic Design.  Stephanie worked in corporate advertising for 5 years after college, then returned to Santa Clarita to start a new chapter with Prime Publications, Inc - publishing The Magazine of Santa Clarita and élite Magazine.

Along with her husband Christopher & their children Benjamin and Rosie, they call Saugus their home. Stephanie is passionate about the community, working with many local non-profit organizations as well as local businesses over the past 10 years with The Magazine of Santa Clarita. She is proud of the connections she has built and looks forward to seeing this new venture flourish as the VVAA grows.

Kelly is a Class of ‘98 graduate. She played basketball and softball and was active in ASB as a class officer her sophomore and senior years.

After high school she attended University of Oregon, where she met her husband, Alex. In search of warmer weather, they both transferred to Cal State San Marcos. There, Kelly earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. She also holds a paralegal certificate from The University of San Diego.

Kelly is a mom of two and splits time between volunteering at her children’s school and helping to make great things happen with the VVAA.
